When someone you love dies in a car crash, it’s natural to want to honor his or her memory. A roadside memorial is an easy way to pay tribute to your loved one, as well as a way to gently remind others to drive responsibly.

When Cindy and Chelsea died, Safe Teen Driver’s founder, Bruce Murakami, wanted to erect a roadside memorial to them, but he felt the Florida DOT’s version was too impersonal. After contacting the DOT, he decided to design his own memorial plates—unique pieces that conformed to the state’s requirements, but that offered a more intimate, personal feel.

Many states regulate roadside memorials. Safe Teen Driver’s memorials meet with Florida DOT requirements.
